Great Garden Weekend |

Garden Plant Sale (10 - 4pm) Normal admission prices to the gardens. A selection of plants for sale, all of which are grown in house at Trentham, including annuals, perennials, vegetables and a wide range of Irises. |

‘Little Ferns’ -Scary Sculptures (11am-1pm) Carve out crazy pumpkin faces for Halloween and make Halloween figures. Bring your own pumpkin due to a limited availability. A free activity for paying visitors and season ticket holders. |
Sunday 26th October | |||

Halloween Owl Walk (5.00pm - 6.30pm) A spooky fancy dress trail around the gardens at night. Come along in fancy dress and discover our garden characters and their scary tales of Trentham’s past. We will have owls in the garden for you to get close to with the opportunity to talk to their handlers all about these beautiful creatures. There also will be prizes awarded for the best fancy dress costume. |

‘Little Ferns’- Creative Christmas (11am-1pm) Make Christmas decorations using materials from nature and adding just a little Christmas sparkle. A free activity for paying visitors and season ticket holders. |

Supported
Schools Activities
Supported
activities would be provided with the opportunity to choose from a
range of supported activities centred around " Gardens and the
Environment". The "supported" package lasts for one and a half
hours.
Option one
- Mini Raft Building
This is a one
and a half hour workshop session which involves collecting the
materials to build the rafts from the Gardens and environment. This
is an opportunity to discuss the seasons, lifecycles and / or
regeneration of the woodland environment. The second section of the
session will be construction of the mini rafts where the class can
be introduced to examples of traditional boat building such as the
coracle or Egyptian barques. The workshop finishes with a mini raft
face down the river between the two bridges at Trentham.
Option two
- Bird Feeder Mobiles
This is a one
and a half hour workshop session, which begins with collecting the
materials to build the mobiles from the Gardens and woodland
environment. This is an opportunity to discuss the seasons,
lifecycles and / or regeneration of the woodland environment and to
listen for birdsong. The second stage of the session will be the
construction of the bird feeder mobiles where the class can use
elements of their classroom work around balanec and weights.
Elements of Design Technology can also be introduced with the use
oif various construction techniques and meterials. The schools can
take the mobiles back to school to hang in the grounds and observe
the birds as they come to feed.
Option
three - Bugs and Beasties
This workshop
is based in the woodland area and lasts for one and a half hours.
The class will collect bugs, beetles, worms and insects using
collection jars and nets. This gives an opportunity to discuss the
seasons, lifecycles, food chains and regeneration of the woodland
environment whilst searching for and identifying the insect life
living in the woodland or in the ponds. An additional element of
this workshop is the opportunity to draw the 'bugs and beasties' and
photograph the areas where the insects live to take back to the
classroom to continue with some addition work at school.
A standard
charge of £7.50 per pupil with one free adult per 10 children.
Additional adults £6.00 (pre-booked and pre-paid) or £6.50
(pre-booked and paid on the day).

Fire Pit Evenings (Over 18’s only) (Minimum group 15) 9.00pm to 11.30pm Available Sept, Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb and March. Begin the evening with a night-time walk through the woods, “tracking” animals with our knowledgeable team. The walk ends at the Trentham fire-pit where you will be served hot food and drinks around the open fire. Later in the evening your group will be accompanied by a live musician on an acoustic guitar. £26.00 per person - season ticket holders £30.00 per person - non-season ticket holders |
